Lisbon Weekly Photo

The idea came up after visiting several “DailyPhoto” sites, particularly the one from Paris, which is my other favorite city. Since LisbonDailyPhoto was getting posts very irregularly, I decided to create this place. Although my skills and my Exilim Z110 are very limited, I hope to deserve your visit. Please leave your comments (any comments) so I can improve.

Sé de Lisboa

A downtown’s gray Saturday morning with the “Sé Catedral de Lisboa” as a background. The Lisbon Cathedral is the oldest church in the city. Initially called Santa Maria Maior, its construction, in the place of the main mosque of Lisbon, started in 1147 after the crusaders conquered Lisbon to the Moors. The first bishop was an English crusader named Gilbert of Hastings.

CARLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS!

No comments yet? OK, I'll be first and honored! ;)

Beautiful shot...looks a little reminiscent of somewhere I was not too long ago! Hmmmmmmmmm....but we won't talk about that...cuz it's not California! LOL! ;)

OH, by the way, a post today just for you! And DB!

And another me...the REAL me! That other person was just stopping by for a glass of wine! Just humor me...it must still be a full moon!

It said words to the effect of big vongrats to you and to the Exilim! I saw it but didn't even bothger trying, bercasue by that time the moon was too high for my lens. Or so I thought. You proved me wrong!
Now the Sé. Last Autumn, on that day of free visits to museums and Roman galleries in the baixa, I discovered a new, exciting place to see into the Sé (that sounds funny!)
Lunch in Lisbon is a definite possibility for me this Thursday. If you can make it, I'll tell you then. Call me on Wednesday, OK.
And Monica, bythe way, Não consegui ver a Sé em 2001, por que ela não estava cá. Fo construida apenas em 2005! ......´Tou à brincar, sorry! How did you miss it??
