Lisbon Weekly Photo

The idea came up after visiting several “DailyPhoto” sites, particularly the one from Paris, which is my other favorite city. Since LisbonDailyPhoto was getting posts very irregularly, I decided to create this place. Although my skills and my Exilim Z110 are very limited, I hope to deserve your visit. Please leave your comments (any comments) so I can improve.

Campo de Santa Clara

Campo de Santa Clara (nothing to do with Ame's Santa Clara in California) is the place where Lisbons Flea Market takes place every Tuesday morning and all day Saturday: Feira da Ladra. It's one of the most interesting and beautiful zones of the city. In the neighborhoods we can find the National Pantheon, Santa Clara Market (the oldest indoor market in the city still standing), São Vicente de Fora Church, etc.

Great series, Carlos - I like the last one a lot - the color of the sky & sea.

Thanks Paul.
These pictures were taken at 8'o clock in a Sunday's "dawn". That's why there's nobody in the streets. Like Obelix used to say: These Romans are Crazy. LOL

I'd love to have you come & fetch me :) I'm sure Carlos knows a good red - I'll bring some Coke.
Of course we have to go when he's not in training for a marathon!

Aaaaaaaaaaah, indeed! Another cosy comfy conversation starting up, I sense...A Tale of Two Santa Claras, this could run & run....No, that kind of run! Carlos, so often when I see your new posts, I imediately think of something I've shot in the same place. I'm gonna mail you something from Santa Clara, IN PRIVATE, folks, as I don't think it's fair. I think only once have I posted my version of a Carlos shot. Never again! Unless we are at the same event.
Oh, Ame & Paul, PLEEEEEZ come over! It would give me another excuse to come into town. Running would definitely be out. And so would the fleas.
Actually, C, second thoughts (never say "never"). Não te importa se postava qualquer coisa sobre o mercado? I've never done it. All the best & when's that week off?
[I have to add a postscript! The word verification for this comment is the latest member of the Daily Photo family:PRNMAWDP. Ame, where's that at?

Paul,
No problem, they don't allow me in marathons any more (wonder why).

Stew,

I'd love to go, believe me. It's sad Carlos, that your marathon career may be over - have you thought of the triathalon?
Stewart, what about the fleas?

Guys, the really mad marathon is that event going on right now as I sit here in my luxury hovel - a gentle jog across the Sahara. Heard about it? It highlights - amongst other Sad-Maso features - a DOUBLE MARATHON!!! 52 miles/83 kms!! I mean, what kind of human beings are they that sign up for a fun run across the Sahara? Get a life!!! Eat dogburgers!
Ame, if you google it, I guess you'll find your way back to Lisbon Weekly P - it was only a random word verification. A JOKE, DAMMIT! LLLLLLOOOOLLLL!
But seriously, you gotta come over to our Santa Clara now, or Carlos will never break the chain to his job! & today's Wd.Verif. is tiktoon. Maybe a remote Indonesian island.........

One of the most important French fascist leagues in the 1930s had the esoteric name (but they were pure bastards anyway, of course) of "Je Suis Partout"......"I Am Everywhere". Not to infer that Ame's a facho!!LoL, You are pure anarcho, girl!
And as if we could forget you, Analia!
Carlos, sem aguardar a tua resposta, já postei a different angle on C de S.C.....abraços!

Hi Carlos, thanks for your comments. I love the blue skie in these photos!

Por falar em Santa Clara, não existe um doce chamado Pastel de Santa Clara? Se for o que estou pensando, são deliciosos!!!
